Stallion Incentive Program and Breeders Championship Futurity Programs
The purpose of the National Snaffle Bit Association is to define, promote and improve the quality of the pleasure horse, to promote exhibits, events and contests in expositions and shows; the promote the training of pleasure horses, to promote interest in pleasure horses among younger horsemen and to use and encourage the use of the standard rules for holding and judging contests of the pleasure horse.

INDIAN ARTIFACTS has long been associated with the NSBA and its programs; first as a performer in longe line events through under saddle classes in open and non-pro events, and now he is represented by his progeny as a top sire in the same events. We believe in the program as the futurity competitions provide a great avenue to start young ones in the show ring, complete with warm-up time in the ring prior to the class, and additionally, the level of competition showcases the quality of the type of horses that we are breeding today for the pleasure market. The addition Trail and Western Riding classes to the NSBA show schedule is a natural progression of the modern pleasure horse. We are pleased also with the recent addition of dual association approval; AQHA and NSBA present opportunities to earn points towards year end awards that reduce travel and show costs.

NSBA Stallion Incentive Program

Fees from the sale of stallion services are used as guaranteed added money to benefit each respective breed and each individual state/region which holds a Stallion Incentive Fund Class. The stallion owner may designate what classes their stallion's money goes to and designate such on nomination form. The classes available for 2006 are: Two-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, Three-Year-Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure, and Three-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle.

NOTE: Stallion incentive fund classes will be held at breed specific shows. Quarter Horse stallion fees will be placed at a Quarter Horse only event, Appaloosa stallion fees will be placed at Appaloosa horse only event, the same holds true for a Paint stallion. If a stallion has foals registered with more than one breed association, the stallion owner may designate one breed to receive the added money, or donate additional breedings designated to other breeds, ensuring that all two and three year olds that year are eligible for the stallion incentive fund classes.

Stallion owners are asked to donate one or more breedings to the NSBA to be sold to mare owners. There is no nomination fee. Mare owners will purchase breedings by highest sealed bid opened January 15.

Bids are accepted from NSBA Members and open at 1/2 the stallion's normal fee plus $100 (minimum $300). The $100 is an administrative fee used to offset the programs' administrative expenses. Minimum fee for stallions standing at private treaty or not standing to the public is $600.

After January 15, unsold stallions may be purchased for 1/2 the normal fee plus $100 (minimum $300/PT $600) by mailing check or money order to the NSBA. Purchases made by phone with credit cards or over our web site will have a 5% service fee added to the total price to reimburse the fund for merchant's credit card fees. Purchases will be posted by NSBA on a first received, first sold basis. Stallion owners may also buy the service themselves, or sell it to a customer directly, after notifying the NSBA office of same. Stallions who are nominated must have their services sold no later than the closing deadline of May 15 to have offspring eligible for that current year.

2005 NSBA Breeders Championship Futurity
Estimated Added Money for 2005 Foals - $254,000

The NSBA is proud to present the Breeders Championship Futurity! The Breeders Futurity is intended to be a user-friendly program that will appeal to all pleasure horse breeders, owners, trainers, exhibitors and enthusiasts by offering a full slate of classes, and paybacks to a large number of placers. The stallion nominator receives 20% and the foal nominator receives 10% of foal earnings. In the event the foal ownership changes, the original nominator will receive the earnings. The Breeders Championship Futurity has been held annually in late August in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A one-time fee payment schedule applies and the entries are due July 15. Entry books are mailed in late April.

The Breeders Championship Futurity is set apart from other futurities with the addition of Gold and Silver Divisions. Creating an additional competition for the Silver Division progeny was the vision of late horseman, Jerry Stanford. His idea was to give the offspring of young stallions a level playing field on which to compete at a premier event. Gold and Silver Divisions are not offered in the Color Division.

Gold Division: Stallions whose get have earned $100,000 or more as determined by Equistat records.

Silver Division: Stallions whose get have earned less than $100,000 as determined by Equistat records. All horses will compete for the gold money in the Open and Non Pro divisions. After the winners are selected, the progeny of the Silver stallions will compete again in separate Silver Finals, allowing the get of the up and coming stallions another chance for prizes and money.

Each class will have a final for the Gold Division horses (Gold and Silver Division horses may compete), the Silver Division horses (only Silver division horses will compete) and also for Intermediate and Limited Division riders. The Color Division will not have the Gold and Silver Divisions. The Color Division will have Open, and Intermediate and Limited Rider Divisions in both the Open and Non Pro Divisions.

New Starting in 2005!! - Color Division for the Breeders Championship Futurity!

Paint, Appaloosa, Palomino and other color breeds now have their own division to compete in Longe Line, Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle events! This is exciting for the foals of INDIAN ARTIFACTS as he has sired many colored breed champions. We are pleased that his foals are eligible for this additional venue that presents a great payback for winners.

Foals MUST be nominated by December 15th of their weanling year!
